Dermot really hit it off with the Granny in this week's Room To Improve

The pair of them even donned their aprons and made some scones.

ON LAST NIGHT’S episode of Room To Improve, Dermot was given the task of satisfying three generations of one family living in their Portrane home.

There was Granny Mary…

Sisters Anna and Marian…

Anna’s son Michael…

And this fantastic seaside view.

We all know that Dermot loves a seaside view, but this time he was absolutely enamored by the fact that the whole house was surrounded by the sea, due to its location on a peninsula. Here’s a small taste of how excited Dermot was:

The view isn’t just a view here, it seeps into your bones. I think if I deliver on nothing else, I’ve got to deliver on that view.

Just demolish the whole house so, they’ll have a great 360° view then. Jokes aside, they did actually decide to demolish the old property to save some money. Anna and Marian took this upon themselves, and had the sledge hammers out before Dermot had even arrived.

It wasn’t long until the builders got fed up with these two ladies and ordered them off of the site for insurance reasons. Twitter, however, loved the enthusiasm.

Dermot loved this family so much, that he rolled up his sleeves, donned an apron, and made some scones with Granny Mary.

The usual problems emerged with the budget (it wouldn’t be Room To Improve, otherwise) but in the end, all parties – Dermot, and three generations of this lovely family – were all extremely satisfied with the outcome.

Little Michael got a new bedroom and said he “really, really, really, really, really” loved it.

And Mary was similarly delighted with the job that Dermot had done.

A big improvement on their old kitchen.

She said that she felt completely rejuvenated by the new house, and that all she was missing was a Latin lover.
